The PP system on osudesu

PP in one paragraph

Performance points measure how hard your play was: star rating, mods, combo, accuracy and miss count go in — a single number comes out. Your profile PP is the weighted sum of your best plays (each next top play counts ~5% less), so one lucky farm map won't carry you; a deep top-100 will.

How osudesu calculates it

The server recalculates PP for every submitted play using star ratings that account for active mods — DT on a 5★ map is judged as the 6.8★ monster it becomes, not the base difficulty. Rankings update live after each submit; you can watch yourself move on the leaderboard in real time.

Relax and Autopilot: separate ladders

On osudesu Relax (the game taps, you aim) and Autopilot (the game aims, you tap) are first-class citizens with their own PP tables. Mixing them into the vanilla ladder would be unfair in both directions — separating them keeps every ladder honest and gives RX/AP mains a real competitive scene, something the official server simply doesn't offer.

Farming PP without hating yourself

  • Play maps slightly above your comfort star rating — growth lives at the edge.
  • Accuracy multiplies harder than combo at equal difficulty: a 98% FC beats a sloppy higher-★ pass.
  • Fill your top-100: ten +50pp plays move you more than one +100pp record.
  • Watch replays of players one step above you — stolen reading patterns are free PP.

FAQ

Is the formula identical to official osu!?

It's the same family of performance calculation, tuned server-side. Numbers may differ slightly from Bancho for edge cases, but relative ranking logic matches.

Why does my profile PP grow slower than my play PP?

Weighted sum: your #1 play counts 100%, #2 ~95%, #3 ~90% and so on. New plays below your current top barely move the total.

Do failed or unranked plays give PP?

No — only passed, ranked submissions count.

Does the web player give PP?

Web plays have their own web leaderboard; client plays feed the main PP ladders.
